About the Role
Our client is looking for an experienced Accounting Team Lead to oversee daily accounting operations and lead a regional finance team supporting APAC entities.
This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong accounting professional who enjoys driving process improvements, mentoring a small team, and taking ownership of month-end close activities within a multinational environment.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership
- Lead and mentor a finance team of 3 members.
- Provide technical guidance, coaching, and day-to-day operational support.
- Drive accountability and continuous process improvements across the team.
- Oversee daily accounting activities including:
- General Ledger postings
- Balance Sheet Account (BBA) clearing
- Journal entries and correction postings
- Investigation and resolution of accounting discrepancies
- Account reconciliations and clean-up activities
- Identify operational gaps, risks, and recommend process improvements.
- Review and maintain finance SOPs to ensure consistency and compliance.
- Lead month-end closing activities and ensure timely completion.
- Prepare and review monthly closing journals and accounting entries.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and ensure accuracy of financial records.
- Support audit and tax requirements by preparing schedules and extracting supporting documentation.
- Manage local statutory adjustments and postings where required.
- Develop and maintain finance documentation and SOPs.
- Build internal knowledge resources to support knowledge transfer and business continuity.
- Support ongoing process optimisation, particularly within Microsoft Dynamics 365.
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
- Strong accounting knowledge with hands-on experience in:
- General Ledger
- Month-end closing
- Account reconciliations
- Financial reporting
- Previous experience leading or mentoring a small finance team.
- Exposure to multiple legal entities within a multinational environment.
- APAC regional finance experience is highly preferred.
- Experience in inventory accounting or manufacturing/distribution environments is preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) is highly advantageous.
- Strong analytical skills, initiative, and the ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
