We're looking for a Junior Application Support / Java Developer to join our client on a 1-year contract. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with Java development experience who enjoy problem-solving and working closely with both technical and business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Gather business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Analyse, design, test, and support system enhancements and existing functionalities.
- Provide BAU application support and troubleshoot Java applications.
- Develop and optimise SQL queries for reporting and data analysis.
- Investigate and resolve production issues while improving system performance.
- Collaborate with project leads, business users, and development teams to deliver effective solutions.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- At least 1 year of experience in Java development and SQL.
- Experience in BAU support, SDLC, and Change Requests.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- A team player with a willingness to learn.
- React and TypeScript
- Excel VBA / Macros
- Spring, Hibernate, or JPA
- Willingness to learn COBOL
