Job Title: Assistant Catering Sales Manager
Department: Catering Sales
Reports to: Director of Catering Sales / Director of Events

Job Summary
The Assistant Catering Sales Manager is responsible for generating and managing catering business for our client, including social events, weddings, meetings, and banquets. The role focuses on building strong client relationships, maximizing catering revenue, and ensuring seamless event execution through effective collaboration with the banquet operations and culinary teams.

Key Responsibilities  

Sales & Business Development
  • Proactively source, develop, and manage new catering accounts across corporate, social, wedding, and MICE segments.
  • Conduct sales calls, attend networking functions, and represent the hotel at relevant trade shows and exhibitions.
  • Prepare proposals, quotations, and contracts in line with hotel policies and client requirements.
  • Achieve individual and team catering sales targets, contributing to the hotel’s overall revenue goals.
Client Relationship Management
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients through regular engagement and personalized service.
  • Conduct site inspections, menu tastings, and pre-event meetings to understand client needs and expectations.
  • Act as the main point of contact for clients, ensuring clear communication and smooth coordination pre-, during, and post-event.
Event Coordination & Execution
  • Liaise with banquet operations, culinary, and other hotel departments to ensure successful event delivery.
  • Monitor event details including timelines, room layouts, menus, and guest preferences to guarantee service excellence.
  • Attend and support major events to ensure high guest satisfaction and address any last-minute requirements.
Administration & Reporting
  • Maintain accurate and updated client records in the CRM system.
  • Prepare regular sales activity reports, revenue forecasts, and post-event feedback summaries.
  • Support the Director of Catering Sales in developing catering packages, promotions, and tactical sales strategies.
Talent Profile / Requirements
  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business, or related field.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in catering sales, events, or banquet sales in a hotel environment.
  • Strong understanding of the MICE and social event markets, with existing client network preferred.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications; knowledge of Opera Sales & Catering or Delphi an advantage.
  • Team player with a service-oriented mindset and strong attention to detail.
