Overview
We’re hiring a Backend Engineer on a 1-year contract for a client engagement. You’ll design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems and RESTful APIs, building high-performance services, integrating with databases and external systems, and ensuring reliability, security, and code quality through testing and best practices.
What You’ll Do
- Design and build scalable backend services and RESTful APIs
- Develop and maintain microservices using Java and Spring Boot
- Integrate with relational and/or NoSQL databases and external systems
- Ensure service reliability, performance, and security (authentication/authorization, API security best practices)
- Write clean, maintainable code with strong test coverage (JUnit/Mockito)
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to design discussions
- Support CI/CD workflows and build tooling (Maven/Gradle) to deliver reliably
- Minimum 3 years of backend development experience
- Strong proficiency in Java with Spring / Spring Boot
- Experience building RESTful APIs and backend services
- Solid understanding of OOP, data structures, and design patterns
- Good grasp of microservices architecture
- Experience with MySQL / PostgreSQL / MongoDB (relational and/or NoSQL)
- Familiar with Git
- Understanding of API security, authentication, and authorization
- Experience with testing frameworks like JUnit and Mockito
- Basic knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and build tools (Maven/Gradle)
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
