About the Role
We are looking for a Business Analyst Intern to support functional analysis, documentation, testing, and project delivery activities for business/IT initiatives. You will work closely with business users and technical teams to translate requirements into clear specifications, support solution design, and ensure high-quality delivery through structured testing and defect management. This role is ideal for students or junior candidates who are eager to learn, structured in their thinking, and disciplined in execution—especially those with an accounting or finance background.
Key Responsibilities
1) Functional Analysis
- Work with stakeholders to understand business processes and gather requirements
- Translate needs into functional specifications, user stories, and process flows
- Support solution design by acting as a bridge between business users and technical teams
- Perform gap analysis and propose enhancements/solutions
- Create and maintain functional documentation (requirements, process flows, user guides as needed)
- Develop and execute test plans, test scenarios, and test cases based on requirements
- Conduct system testing, integration testing, UAT, and regression testing
- Manage the defect lifecycle: raise, track, retest, and support closure
- Ensure solutions meet business needs and comply with quality standards
- Collaborate with users to facilitate UAT and obtain sign-offs
- Assist with deployment and post-go-live support
- Participate in Agile ceremonies (e.g., sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives) where applicable
- Provide input for effort estimation and timeline planning
- Work effectively with multi-disciplinary teams across geographies
Good-to-Have Skills (Optional)
- Experience in a similar functional/BA role (internship/project work counts)
- Exposure to SDLC methodologies (Agile / Waterfall)
- Familiarity with tools such as JIRA, HP ALM, TestRail, or equivalents
- Strong Microsoft Office skills:
- Excel: formulas, pivot tables, basic data analysis
- PowerPoint: clean, executive-level presentation design
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a diploma/degree in Accountancy, Finance, Business, Information Systems, or related fields
- Candidates with an accounting background will be strongly preferred
- Any exposure to SAP or finance-related processes (e.g., AP/AR/GL, closing, invoicing) is an advantage
