They are currently expanding their team and are looking for an experienced and results-driven Business Development Manager to lead their growth across the public sector, including local and central government, healthcare, defence etc.
The Role:
As a Business Development Manager, you will play a key role in identifying, pursuing, and securing new business opportunities within the public sector. Your primary goal will be to grow our customer base and deepen relationships with key decision-makers by understanding their needs and delivering innovative, integrated IT solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and qualify new business opportunities within the public sector
- Develop and execute strategic account plans to drive growth
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, procurement teams, and decision-makers
- Collaborate with technical teams to create compelling proposals and presentations
- Stay current with public sector procurement frameworks (e.g., G-Cloud, CCS, Digital Outcomes)
- Meet and exceed sales targets, KPIs, and revenue goals
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities
- Provide market feedback to influence product/service development
- Proven experience in a business development or sales role, ideally within a systems integrator or IT solutions provider
- Deep understanding of the public sector procurement landscape and sales cycles
- Strong network within government, healthcare, or education sectors
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
- Self-motivated, target-driven, and highly organized
- Ability to translate complex technical solutions into clear business value
- Familiarity with relevant public sector frameworks and compliance standards
- A background in IT, cloud, networking, or cybersecurity is a plus
