About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Claims Specialist to join the Singapore team.
In this role, you will play a key part in delivering best-in-class claims handling, primarily focused on Aviation, with some exposure to Marine Cargo. You will be part of a collaborative and globally connected claims function, working on complex and technical claims in a fast-paced environment.
Role Purpose
The primary responsibility of this role is to manage and support the technical oversight of the Asia Marine and Aviation claims portfolio, in line with corporate guidelines and industry best practices.
This includes:
- Managing end-to-end claims activities: investigation, evaluation, documentation, and resolution
- Partnering with underwriters and market stakeholders to provide insights on claims trends
- Supporting the Head of Claims, Asia, in developing strategic claims solutions and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships
- Contributing to process improvements, quality assurance, and compliance efforts
Key Accountabilities
Strategic
- Deliver high-quality claims service to enhance client and broker experience
- Support the development and evolution of Marine and Aviation claims functions
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive effective claims solutions
- Maintain strong broker and client relationships to support business retention
- Monitor claims trends and provide data-driven insights to underwriting and leadership teams
- Represent the organisation as a trusted partner in the market
- Handle and oversee Marine and Aviation claims across Asia, ensuring adherence to internal claims standards
- Prepare detailed large claims reports, including reserve movements and recommendations
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and internal governance frameworks
- Manage relationships with external vendors, TPAs, and service providers
- Support audits and quality assurance reviews
- Minimum 4+ years of experience in Marine, Aviation, or Transport (MAT) claims
- Strong understanding of claims management and portfolio oversight
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to produce clear reports and summaries
- Comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders and external partners
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking abilities
- Proactive, adaptable, and collaborative mindset
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
- Degree or equivalent required; claims-related or legal qualifications are advantageous
- Experience in complex claims resolution and dispute management is a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and claims systems preferred
