About the Role
We are looking for a Cloud Platform Architect to lead the design, implementation, and optimisation of our cloud platforms across public, private, and hybrid environments. You will be the subject matter expert for cloud and application architecture, driving key technical decisions and ensuring our platforms are secure, scalable, and highly available. This is a 1-year contract role based in the central region, working closely with cross-functional teams and third-party vendors to deliver robust, enterprise-grade solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Architecture & Design
- Design and implement scalable, secure cloud solutions that meet business and technical requirements.
- Oversee application architecture and deployment across public, private, and hybrid cloud environments.
- Develop and maintain cloud adoption plans, reference architectures, and standards.
- Design and harden Pega, Elastic, Kafka, and MSSQL environments to meet security and compliance requirements.
- Architect and deliver high-availability and disaster recovery for critical components and platforms.
- Manage and monitor cloud services using Cloud Management Platforms and enterprise architecture best practices.
- Continuously assess, optimise, and right-size cloud infrastructure for performance, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
- Evaluate and recommend cloud technologies, tools, and services to enhance performance, reliability, and security.
- Act as the subject matter expert (SME) for Cloud Platform Architecture.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to align cloud strategies with organisational goals.
- Lead and mentor the technical team; be responsible for team-level technical decisions.
- Work closely with third-party vendors to maintain platforms, troubleshoot issues, and deliver solutions.
- Report and remediate issues in a timely manner, ensuring minimal business impact.
- Lead workshops, training sessions, and knowledge-sharing activities to promote best practices.
- Contribute to architectural reviews, design documents, and governance processes.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Cloud Platform Architecture or similar role.
- Expert proficiency in Cloud Platform Architecture (mandatory).
- Expert proficiency in Applications Architecture (highly preferred).
- Strong experience with Cloud Management Platforms and Cloud Enterprise Architecture concepts.
- Solid understanding of security, compliance, and hardening practices in cloud environments.
- Hands-on experience with high-availability, performance tuning, and disaster recovery.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to design solutions that work across multiple teams.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, comfortable leading discussions and presenting solutions.
