About the Role
Our client is seeking a Corporate Actions Analyst to join an established Asset Servicing / Operations team supporting corporate action and income events across the APAC markets.
This role will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of Voluntary and Mandatory Corporate Actions and Income events across both equity and fixed income products. You will work closely with internal trading desks, prime brokerage clients, stock loan counterparties, external brokers and custodian banks to ensure that corporate action events are processed accurately and within required deadlines.
The role would suit candidates with prior experience in Corporate Actions, Asset Servicing, Securities Operations or Investment Banking Operations, particularly those who have worked with APAC markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and process Voluntary and Mandatory Corporate Action and Income events
across APAC markets.
- Support the distribution and processing of cash and stock entitlements
arising from corporate action events.
- Create and maintain corporate action events within proprietary operational systems.
- Review and interpret corporate action announcements and information received from custodian banks, brokers and market counterparties.
- Liaise with custodians and self-clearing markets to obtain and validate relevant event information.
- Process corporate action instructions accurately and within market deadlines.
- Perform cash and stock reconciliation
to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Monitor outstanding instructions, elections and entitlements and follow up on exceptions where required.
- Support internal trading desks, prime brokerage clients, stock loan counterparties and external brokers
on corporate action-related matters.
- Ensure accurate processing of corporate action events in accordance with established procedures and controls.
- Investigate and resolve operational breaks, discrepancies and exceptions in a timely manner.
- Work with relevant stakeholders to resolve issues relating to settlements, entitlements, instructions and reconciliation.
- Maintain a strong understanding of operational and market risks associated with corporate actions processing.
- Ensure all work is completed accurately and within agreed service levels and market deadlines.
- Support process improvement initiatives and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and controls.
- Participate in ad-hoc projects and other operational activities as required.
The role will provide exposure to a broad range of corporate action and income events across APAC markets, including activities relating to:
- Mandatory and voluntary corporate actions
- Income events
- Equity and fixed income securities
- Cash and stock entitlements
- Corporate action elections and instructions
- Custodian and broker communication
- Reconciliation and exception management
- APAC market processing and settlement requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
- Prior experience in Corporate Actions, Asset Servicing or Securities Operations.
- Experience supporting APAC markets, preferably within a banking, investment banking, broker-dealer, custodian or financial services environment.
- Good understanding of corporate action processing and the associated operational risks.
- Experience working with equity and/or fixed income corporate actions.
- Experience with cash and stock reconciliation.
- Exposure to custodian banks, brokers or other market counterparties.
- Understanding of securities settlement and post-trade processes.
- Familiarity with SWIFT messaging and market standards
will be advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling time-sensitive transactions.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- A logical and proactive approach to investigating and resolving operational issues.
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a high-volume and deadline-driven environment.
- Ability to work in a high-risk operational environment
where accuracy, controls and timely execution are critical.
- Demonstrated initiative and an interest in identifying and implementing process improvements.
