Data Engineer – Talend & Spark (1-Year Contract)

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer (Talend & Spark) to join our team on a 1-year contract. The successful candidate will play a key role in designing, building, and optimizing ETL pipelines and big data solutions, working with diverse data sources and large-scale systems. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to enterprise-level data initiatives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Use the Talend ETL toolset to create new ETL jobs and maintain existing ones.
- Design and implement ETL processes for extracting and transforming data from diverse sources (Hive, PostgreSQL, SQL Server).
- Design and develop database tables with required constraints as per business requirements.
- Collaborate with team members to understand source system structures, retrieval methods, and integration tools.
- Support the development of data transformation logic using ETL tools and scripting languages (SQL, Python, etc.).
- Clean, validate, and transform data to meet target schema and quality standards.
- Work with the team to execute data quality improvement plans.
- Participate in troubleshooting activities to maintain data integrity and process efficiency.
- Hands-on experience with Talend, Python, and Spark.
- Strong knowledge and working experience with data lakes and Hadoop ecosystems(Hive, Impala, HDFS).
- Proven experience designing, developing, and optimizing Talend Big Data jobs leveraging the Spark engine.
- Understanding of Spark Catalyst Optimizer and executor parameters to tune and optimize queries.
- Solid experience in data warehousing and data modeling techniques.
- Familiarity with visualization and analytics tools.
- Strong problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills with a positive, collaborative attitude.
