- Database Analysis
- Database Performance analysis, fine tuning and optimization
- Database Migration, database patches
- Database security features implementation(hardening)
- Automate the build, operation, backup, restore, and monitoring of databases used across.
- Technical database documentation
- Daily health checks on the database, implement monitor scripts (shell, power script)
- Verification of database status and integrity during application upgrade or maintenance
- Database housekeeping/optimization activities including but not limited to:
- Highlight and ensure sufficient data growth
- Create/reallocate DB files, tables, indexes, rollback segments, (auto)extent management and other database objects - Providing advice to Operations Manager and Customers on database related issues as well as new technology and innovations
- Create best practices for cloud database operations
- Incident/Problem Management
- Must be a Certified Oracle Database Administrator and Microsoft SQL Administrator in administration and troubleshooting, in a 24x7 enterprise setting (inclusive of manual discovery or post actions from automatic alerts).
- Bachelor Degree in Information Technology/Information Systems/Computer Science/Business IT or equivalent
- At least 5 years of Oracle and SQL Database support administration
- Must be subject matter expert on databases, preferably Oracle 12c,19c, Oracle RAC, Microsoft SQL databases 2016,2017,2019,2022, Azure, AWS
- Good understanding of a services business in a high-tech environment from a supplier, integrator or operator’s perspective
- Demonstrated leadership ability and achievement oriented
- Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, combined with ability to provide quick resolution to problems
- Experience in database backup and disaster recovery implementation
- Good knowledge of Windows and UNIX operating systems
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Customer service oriented and an effective team player
- Preferable with government sector experience.
