About the Role
Our client is seeking a Equities Operations & Client Services Associate to join the Equities Synthetic Client Operations team within Global Markets Operations.
The team operates in a fast-paced trading environment, supporting institutional clients including corporations, financial institutions, and fund managers. The role provides an opportunity to gain hands-on exposure to equities operations, trade processing, risk management, client servicing, and workflow optimisation.
We are looking for a tech-savvy and highly motivated junior candidate who is keen to build a career within financial markets and can thrive in a dynamic, high-volume environment.
The division plays a critical role in risk management, controls, process optimisation, and operational excellence, working across products and markets to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and integrity throughout the trade lifecycle.
Within Global Markets, the Equities Derivatives (EQD) Operations team supports efficient and accurate transaction processing across a broad range of complex financial products. The team works closely with the business to establish strong controls and processes that protect both the firm and its clients.
Key Responsibilities
Trade & Operational Support
- Support the day-to-day operations of the Equities Synthetic Client Operations team.
- Develop a strong understanding of trade economics and the end-to-end trade lifecycle.
- Verify trade details and ensure accuracy within the firm's booking and operational systems.
- Monitor and resolve exceptions in a timely and effective manner.
- Ensure operational activities are completed accurately and within required timelines.
- Maintain procedural and process conformity in line with market standards and regulatory requirements.
- Support the team in identifying and mitigating operational and reputational risks.
- Monitor compliance and operational metrics to identify potential issues, trends, and areas for improvement.
- Work with line teams to identify non-compliant themes and patterns and support improvements in execution timelines.
- Maintain a strong risk and control mindset across daily operational activities.
- Partner with Sales and Trading desks to support high-quality client service.
- Act as a point of contact for operational matters and work collaboratively with internal stakeholders.

- Proactively communicate issues and work with relevant stakeholders to drive resolution.
- Support technology and workflow initiatives aimed at improving execution processes and reducing operational risk.
- Identify opportunities to streamline existing workflows and improve efficiency.
- Implement small, incremental enhancements to existing processes and workflows.
- Leverage technology and data to support operational improvements and better decision-making.
- Develop a strong understanding of the trade lifecycle to identify practical opportunities for automation and process enhancement.
- Assist with the preparation of reports and presentations covering operational and compliance metrics.
- Support senior management with analysis and insights on trends, risks, and operational performance.
- Contribute to the development and execution of initiatives designed to improve compliance rates and operational efficiency.
- Degree in a relevant discipline, preferably in Finance, Business, Economics, Technology, or a related field.
- 0–1 year of relevant experience
in financial services, including internships or full-time experience.
- Strong interest in financial markets, equities, and trading operations.
- Technologically savvy with an aptitude for learning new systems and tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
with multiple priorities.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Good understanding of risk, controls, and operational processes.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proactive, adaptable, and willing to take ownership of tasks.
- Able to work effectively with multiple internal stakeholders and teams.
You should be comfortable working with data and technology, able to manage multiple priorities, and have a strong attention to detail. A genuine interest in equities, trading, financial markets, and process improvement will be highly valued.
