We are currently partnering with a leading global insurance organisation, to hire a Finance / Accounting Executive to support the team on a 6-month maternity cover contract. There may be potential for conversion to a permanent role, subject to business needs and performance.
This role will sit within a finance operations team responsible for Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), and Credit Control functions, supporting financial reconciliation, payment processing, and account management.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts & Reconciliation
- Perform reconciliation of Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable balances
- Monitor debtor and creditor balances and follow up on outstanding receivables
- Ensure receivables and payables are accurately analysed and cleared from AR/AP systems
- Assist with preparation of cash application worksheets and reconciliation reports
- Prepare and initiate payment transactions, including wire transfers
- Process payments through internal systems and banking platforms
- Support timely settlement of payments and ensure accurate documentation
- Support preparation of monthly reconciliation and financial reports
- Prepare and post journal entries where required
- Generate and review reports from internal financial systems
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for financial transactions
- Liaise with internal stakeholders and finance teams regarding account balances and payment queries
- Work closely with technical assistants and team members to resolve issues such as non-receipt of settlement
- Respond promptly to queries from internal stakeholders
- Assist team members with reconciliation activities and finance operations
- Support ad-hoc projects or duties assigned by management
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
- 1–3 years of relevant experience in Accounting, Finance Operations, AR/AP, or Credit Control
- Candidates from Insurance / Reinsurance / Financial Services industries are preferred, but not mandatory
- Strong analytical and reconciliation skills with attention to detail
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with deadlines
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel(Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP preferred)
- Experience with accounting or finance systems is an advantage
- Training on internal systems will be provided
