Overview
Our client is looking for an experienced IBM TM1 Support Consultant to support and enhance their IBM Planning Analytics (TM1) platform in a finance budgeting and forecasting environment. The role focuses on production support, system operations, data validation, deployments, and ongoing improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop a strong understanding of the budgeting and forecasting process and support finance planning cycles.
- Quickly learn and understand the current implemented IBM PA/TM1 solution and its functionality.
- Perform impact analysis, troubleshooting, and resolution of production defects.
- Manage daily operational activities including nightly data refresh (chores) and highlight observations/issues.
- Investigate and fix data load failures, errors, and warnings.
- Perform variance analysis and data validation during monthly/quarterly close.
- Ensure proper data archival, restore, and backup procedures are followed.
- Support upgrades and patching for IBM Planning Analytics (On-Prem IBM PA hosted on GCC Cloud).
- Participate in and execute cutover activities and deployment steps for fixes/enhancements.
- Work closely with infrastructure/security teams
for environment issues, security, and access concerns.
- Hands-on experience with IBM Planning Analytics / TM1 Cognos
- Strong knowledge of finance budgeting & forecasting processes
- Experience in application support and development work
- Cube, Dimension, Element, Hierarchy
- Rules and Feeders
- TI (TurboIntegrator) processes
- Data types (numeric, string, consolidation)
- PAW, PAX, PAfE, TM1 Web
- Create/manage cubes, dimensions, hierarchies, subsets
- Attributes, aliases, relationships management
- Write/test rules using PAW rule editor
- Build and execute TI processes
- Feeder management and optimization
- Design intuitive PAW books and sheets
- Use widgets, tabs, selectors, and quick reports
- Apply best practices for layout, formatting, and usability
- Object security (cube, dimension, element, process, chore)
- Cell-level security rules and application security
- Backup and recovery of PAW books and assets
- Support deployment and upgrade activities
- Minimum 3–4 years
of relevant IBM TM1 / Planning Analytics experience
