About the Role
Our client is looking for a senior technologist to shape our cloud and platform engineering strategy, uplift DevSecOps capabilities, and guide teams through modernization. You’ll blend architecture leadership with hands-on enablement—partnering with stakeholders, mentoring a Center of Excellence (CoE), and running workshops that turn plans into working platforms.
What You’ll Do
- Strategic Advisory: Provide expert guidance on DevSecOps and cloud infrastructure best practices; define reference architectures and guardrails.
- Discovery & Planning: Assess current environments and delivery processes; design pragmatic, phased modernization roadmaps.
- Stakeholder Management: Translate technical solutions into business value; present options, trade-offs, and outcomes to executive and delivery stakeholders.
- Team Leadership: Mentor CoE members; coach product/delivery teams; champion cross-department adoption of tooling and standards.
- Hands-on Enablement: Lead workshops and proof-of-value implementations to institute new tools, pipelines, and platform capabilities.
- Operational Excellence:
Embed Day-2 operations practices (observability, reliability, cost visibility) and secure-by-design principles.
- Experience: Minimum 7+ years in IT delivery/engineering with 3+ years in team or technical leadership roles.
- Technical Expertise:
- Azure DevOps, Terraform, Kubernetes(design, IaC, multi-env workflows).
- Cloud networking on Azure and AWS(VNets/VPCs, peering, routing, gateways, security groups/NSGs).
- Operations & Security:
- Day-2 operations and observability (e.g., logging/metrics/tracing with tools such as Prometheus/Grafana, ELK/OpenSearch, Datadog—or equivalents).
- Secure cloud architecture (identity, secrets, policy-as-code, vulnerability management, supply-chain controls).
- Stakeholder Management: Clear, concise communication and presentation skills; ability to influence across engineering, security, and business functions.
- Strategic Thinking: Track record aligning technical decisions to business and operational outcomes (risk, cost, velocity, reliability).
