Position Overview
We are seeking a professional Japanese Translator to support a 2-day business event in Singapore. The successful candidate will provide real-time interpretation and translation support between Japanese and English-speaking stakeholders, ensuring smooth communication throughout the event.
This opportunity is ideal for candidates with prior experience in interpretation, event support, conferences, exhibitions, corporate meetings, or client-facing environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide real-time interpretation between Japanese and English during business meetings, presentations, discussions, and networking sessions.
- Facilitate clear and accurate communication between Japanese delegates and local stakeholders.
- Assist with ad-hoc translation of event materials, presentations, and documents where required.
- Support event organizers and attendees by bridging language and cultural communication gaps.
- Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and accuracy throughout the event.
- Accompany delegates during event activities when interpretation support is required.
- Prior experience in Japanese-English interpretation and translation.
- Experience supporting corporate events, conferences, exhibitions, seminars, meetings, or client engagements will be advantageous.
- Candidates with interpretation experience within industries such as arts, media, film, production, technology, manufacturing, or corporate environments are welcome to apply.
- Business to native-level proficiency in Japanese and English.
- JLPT N1 or equivalent proficiency preferred.
- Strong verbal communication and listening skills.
- Professional and confident communicator.
- Able to think quickly and interpret conversations accurately in real-time.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to engage with stakeholders from diverse backgrounds.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced event environment.
