About the Role
We are seeking a highly analytical and proactive Java Backend Developer to take ownership of core server-side applications in a production environment. This role blends high-stakes troubleshooting with feature development, where you will be the primary point of contact for diagnosing complex production issues while also driving the implementation of high-priority change requests (CRs) to evolve the platform. Key Responsibilities
Troubleshooting & Production Support
- Lead the investigation and resolution of complex technical issues and performance bottlenecks reported by stakeholders or monitoring tools.
- Triage incidents, identify root causes, and implement effective fixes with minimal disruption.
- Design, develop, test, and deploy new change requests (CRs).
- Ensure new features integrate cleanly with existing architecture and do not introduce regressions.
- Perform detailed RCA for recurring incidents and implement long-term structural fixes (not temporary patches).
- Improve stability, performance, scalability, and security of backend services.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving Java development standards.
- Share knowledge with teammates and contribute to documentation and maintainability.
- Identify opportunities to refactor and modernise legacy modules to improve maintainability and scalability.
- Work closely with QA, Product Managers, and Frontend teams to clarify requirements and ensure end-to-end functionality.
- 2–3+ years of hands-on experience in Java backend development.
- Strong proficiency in Java development and debugging (including production support).
- Strong SQL skills (query writing, troubleshooting, basic performance tuning).
- Exposure to ReactJS and/or NodeJS(for integration, debugging, or understanding end-to-end flows).
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
- Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders.
