About the Role
We are looking for a junior Functional Analyst to support our finance-related projects and systems, with a focus on process improvement, requirements gathering, and testing. This role is ideal for someone early in their career with a strong analytical mindset and an interest in accounting and/or SAP. You will work closely with business stakeholders, project managers, and technical teams to ensure solutions are well-designed, thoroughly tested, and aligned with business needs.
Key Responsibilities
1. Functional Analysis
- Work with business users to understand current business processes and gather requirements.
- Translate business needs into clear functional specifications, user stories, and process flows.
- Act as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams during solution design.
- Perform gap analysis and propose enhancements or solutions to address business challenges.
- Create and maintain functional documentation, including requirements, process maps, and user guides.
- Develop and execute test plans, test scenarios, and test cases based on business and functional requirements.
- Perform various types of testing such as system, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Manage the defect lifecycle: log defects, track progress, work with technical teams on fixes, and retest as needed.
- Ensure that delivered solutions meet business needs, quality standards, and acceptance criteria.
- Collaborate with business users to facilitate UAT sessions and support sign-off activities.
- Support system deployment activities and provide post-go-live support to users.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies (e.g., sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives) or relevant project meetings.
- Provide input to effort estimates and timelines for enhancement requests or project tasks.
- Work collaboratively in multi-disciplinary teams across different locations and time zones.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to break down complex issues.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact confidently with stakeholders.
- Good stakeholder management and facilitation skills, including running discussions and clarifying requirements.
- High attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality and accuracy.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and manage multiple tasks.
- Degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Financial or SAP experience/background is preferred.
- Experience in a similar functional/business analyst role.
- Familiarity with SDLC and project methodologies such as Agile or Waterfall.
- Experience with tools such as JIRA, HP ALM, TestRail, or equivalent test/issue management tools.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially:
- Excel: formulas, pivot tables, data analysis.
- PowerPoint: creating clear, executive-level presentations.
