About the Role
Our client is seeking an Operations Analyst to join its Equities Operations team, supporting the post-trade lifecycle of cash equities transactions.
The role provides an opportunity for candidates with relevant internship or early-career experience in banking operations, trade operations, middle office or securities operations to develop hands-on exposure to equities, client servicing, operational risk and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the trade lifecycle of cash equities transactions, including trade allocation, pre-matching and settlement/fails management.
- Support client onboarding and account maintenance activities to facilitate a seamless post-trade experience.
- Handle operational and transaction-related queries from clients and internal stakeholders, providing timely follow-up and resolution.
- Perform operational checks and controls to identify and mitigate potential risks.
- Review and validate change requests, ensuring accuracy of records and adherence to established processes and requirements.
- Work closely with Sales, Trading, Middle Office, Technology, Compliance and Client Integration teams to resolve operational issues.
- Provide operational support for Stock Connect / China Northbound trading activities.
- Identify opportunities to improve workflows, enhance straight-through processing (STP) and support automation initiatives.
- Support process enhancements, new product initiatives and market-entry activities.
- Diploma or degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Banking, Accounting or a related discipline.
- Relevant internship or early-career experience in banking operations, trade operations, middle office, securities operations or a related function.
- Exposure to financial products, particularly equities / cash equities, is highly advantageous.
- Good understanding or interest in financial markets and securities operations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with good attention to detail.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proactive, organised and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is preferred.
- Exposure to data analysis, automation, process improvement or workflow optimisation will be an advantage.
