Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Android Mobile Application Developer to support the end-to-end development lifecycle of mobile applications. The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance applications while ensuring optimal user experience and system reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse, design, develop, implement, and provide post-production support for Android mobile applications
- Translate UI/UX designs and wireframes into high-quality, scalable code
- Design and develop high-performance, reusable, and reliable applications
- Ensure application performance, quality, and responsiveness
- Identify bottlenecks, troubleshoot issues, and implement bug fixes
- Maintain code quality, organisation, and automation practices
- Manage deployment and release of applications into production
- Strong experience in Android Development (React Native)
- Proficiency in Node.js, JavaScript, and Kotlin
- Experience with Java (Spring Boot) and backend integration
- Knowledge of SQL and stored procedures
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs and mobile-backend integration
- Experience with AngularJS / Angular (good to have)
- Exposure to IBM MQ Messaging (good to have)
- Experience with TypeScript (good to have)
- Strong knowledge of Android SDK, versions, and device compatibility
- Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance optimisation
- Familiarity with Android UI design principles and best practices
- Understanding of push notifications and cloud messaging APIs
- Experience with biometrics (e.g. facial recognition, fingerprint) is a plus
- Proficiency in version control tools (e.g. Git, SVN) and CI/CD practices
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent
- 3–5 years of relevant working experience
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
- Strong problem-solving skills with ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and adaptable to changing environments
