Job Title: Network Engineer (12 Months Contract) 
Reports To: Service Delivery Manager
Business Unit: Managed Services
Location:  Central

Overview
The Network Engineer is responsible for analysing, designing, installing, configuring, maintaining, and repairing network infrastructure and application components. This role involves performing a wide range of evaluation, maintenance, installation, and training tasks to ensure optimal network performance and user satisfaction.

The incumbent will also provide recommendations and technical guidance on network configurations and implementations to support business operations effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage network-related incidents and change requests
  • Oversee the commissioning, decommissioning, and technology refresh of network devices
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support problem resolution
  • Ensure smooth delivery of network operations in line with Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
  • Perform firmware upgrades and updates for network devices
  • Ensure network infrastructure complies with security policies and standards
  • Maintain asset inventory and ensure accuracy of capacity reporting
  • Update and maintain process and procedural documentation
  • Perform any other ad-hoc duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business IT, or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in network administration and implementation
Technical Skills:
  • Firewall technologies (e.g., high availability, virtual firewall concepts)
  • IP load balancers
  • Distribution and core switches
  • Router configuration (including high availability setups)
  • LAN and WAN administration
Core Competencies:
  • Strong understanding of service-based businesses within high-tech environments (e.g., supplier, integrator, or operator)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to deliver timely resolutions
  • Proficient in troubleshooting and diagnostics
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
