Operations Executive 
Contract: 6 Months
Experience:  Entry level with relevant Operations internship experience 

About the Role
We are looking for a Operations Executive  to join the Client Operations team within Global Banking & Markets Operations.

The team provides operational and client support for the cash equities business, with a strong focus on trade lifecycle management, risk and controls, client experience and process improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the end-to-end trade lifecycle, including trade allocation, pre-matching, settlement and fails management.
  • Assist with client onboarding and account maintenance, ensuring a smooth post-trade experience.
  • Support client queries and operational requests relating to equity transactions and trading activities.
  • Perform key risk and control checks to ensure transactions and operational processes are completed accurately and on time.
  • Review and validate change requests, ensuring appropriate controls and approvals are in place.
  • Work closely with Sales, Trading, Technology, Compliance, Client Integration and Middle Office teams to resolve operational issues.
  • Support Stock Connect / China Northbound trading activities and related client requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, increase automation and enhance straight-through processing (STP).
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with relevant operational and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • Diploma or Degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Banking, Accountancy or a related discipline.
  • Relevant internship experience in banking or financial services operations is required.
  • Exposure to trade operations, securities operations, middle office, settlements, custody or equities operations will be advantageous.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.
  • Good analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders.
  • Proactive, responsible and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interest in financial markets and willingness to learn about equities and trade operations.
  • Comfortable working with data and identifying opportunities for process improvement or automation.
