Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Operation Analyst to join the Margin Lending team on a 6-month contract basis. This role plays a critical part in monitoring client exposures, validating margin requirements, and ensuring timely issuance and resolution of margin calls.
The successful candidate will work closely with internal stakeholders across Operations, Risk, Credit, Technology, and Front Office teams to ensure compliance with lending exposure limits while supporting process improvements and strategic initiatives across the business.
Key Responsibilities
Margin Call Management
- Calculate, validate, and issue margin calls for Private Wealth Management clients.
- Monitor client accounts to ensure exposures remain within approved borrowing limits.
- Work closely with business partners to ensure margin calls are communicated and met within the required timelines.
- Escalate and manage exceptions where client accounts exceed exposure thresholds.
- Respond to incoming queries from internal stakeholders and business partners.
- Liaise closely with Risk, Credit, Technology, and Operations teams to investigate and resolve issues.
- Manage and resolve client disputes, inquiries, and exceptions in a timely and professional manner.
- Support daily regulatory and risk reporting obligations across various business lines.
- Ensure adherence to internal controls, policies, and operational procedures.
- Identify and escalate operational risks and control issues where necessary.
- Proactively identify opportunities to enhance existing processes and controls.
- Participate in system enhancements, automation initiatives, and operational improvement projects.
- Support regional and global initiatives aimed at improving scalability, efficiency, and client service standards.
Experience
- 1 year of experience within Banking Operations, Financial Operations, Margin Lending, Credit Operations, Trade Support, or a related operational environment.
- Prior exposure to margin calls, collateral management, lending operations, or risk-related functions will be highly advantageous.
- Experience working within a fast-paced financial services environment preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with strong numerical aptitude.
- Comfortable working with large data sets and operational controls.
- Strong understanding of operational risks, controls, escalation procedures, and process governance.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong client service mindset with the ability to work collaboratively across functions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel will be advantageous.
- Self-motivated and results-oriented.
