About the role
A large enterprise is running a major platform transformation across its Data & AI ecosystem. This role leads delivery of transformation initiatives, provides technical leadership across platform modernisation, and manages a team of platform engineers.
Key responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end delivery of platform transformation programs (plan, execute, manage risks/dependencies, report outcomes).
- Drive adoption of cloud-native patterns, platform automation, and modernisation frameworks.
- Support AI transformation by enabling scalable platform foundations for model development and deployment.
- Partner closely with data governance, security, and compliance teams to embed controls and standards.
- Build repeatable deployment patterns using containers and infrastructure as code.
- Improve reliability, performance, scalability, and operational readiness of the platform environment.
- Lead and develop platform engineers; uplift engineering practices and delivery maturity.
- Strong delivery leadership for complex transformation programs in large enterprise environments.
- Technical depth in cloud infrastructure, platform automation, and modernisation approaches.
- Working knowledge of AI/ML platforms (e.g., Azure ML) and scalable architecture patterns.
- Experience with Azure, Snowflake, Databricks; Docker, Kubernetes; Terraform, Ansible.
- Solid understanding of data governance, security, and compliance expectations.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- People leadership experience managing technical teams.
