The Program Engineer oversees technical and operational aspects of high-precision engineering projects, serving as the link between engineering teams, program managers, and clients. The role involves guiding the design, development, and delivery of precision-engineered products. Success in this position requires technical proficiency, strong project management skills, and a solid understanding of manufacturing processes within precision engineering.
Project Coordination
- Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, timelines, and budgets for precision engineering initiatives.
- Work closely with NPI, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure alignment with project goals.
- Track project milestones and proactively resolve engineering or logistical issues.
- Provide expertise in precision engineering techniques, including CNC machining, micro-fabrication, and metrology.
- Oversee prototype development and ensure design manufacturability.
- Conduct technical feasibility studies and risk assessments for high-precision components and systems.
- Ensure all projects comply with stringent quality and tolerance requirements specific to precision engineering.
- Coordinate validation, testing, and inspection activities for components and assemblies.
- Serve as the primary liaison for internal teams, clients, and suppliers on technical matters and program updates.
- Prepare and deliver progress reports, technical documentation, and risk assessments to stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Precision Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in program or project engineering within precision engineering or manufacturing.
- Hands-on experience with CNC machining, CAD/CAM tools, and precision measurement equipment is advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of precision manufacturing methods and materials.
- Proficiency in engineering software such as SolidWorks, CATIA, or AutoCAD is preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Solid project management experience, including the use of tools like Microsoft Project.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.
- Familiarity with industry standards such as ISO 9001 and AS9100.
- Experience managing customer relationships in industries such as semiconductor, aerospace, medical devices, or analytical life sciences.
- Knowledge of advanced manufacturing technologies, including additive manufacturing and laser machining, is an advantage.
