The Role
We’re hiring a Senior COBOL Developer for our Cash Management & Corporate Banking Services group, which designs and runs the bank’s international core banking system (ICBS). You’ll work in a challenging, multicultural environment, collaborating with product, architecture, and support teams to design, code, test, and deliver robust software—while providing Level-3 production support when needed.
What You’ll Do
- Research, design, develop, and enhance software components for core banking modules (e.g., Accounts & Expense Management, Referential & Access Management).
- Translate functional specs into technical designs, write clean code, and build unit/integration tests.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation (designs, specs, test plans, integration guides).
- Partner with business analysts to refine requirements and ensure end-to-end solution integrity.
- Integrate components across hardware/software systems and participate in peer reviews.
- Execute and improve testing & validation procedures; contribute to delivery quality standards.
- Provide Level-3 production support: investigate, analyze, and resolve incidents.
- Participate in technical discussions and propose best-practice solutions.
- Deliver assigned tasks and projects within agreed scope, time, cost, and quality.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Analysis, or related field.
- 6+ years of hands-on development with COBOL and Pro*C (including analysis, design, coding, testing).
- Micro Focus COBOL
- C and Pro*C
- Shell scripting
- SQL / PL/SQL, Oracle
- GitLab (source control, CI pipelines)
- Docker, Kubernetes
- Jenkins, Maven, broader CI/CD implementation
- MQ, CFT (file transfer and messaging)
- Strong communication (English), analytical, and organizational skills.
- Proactive, autonomous, and solutions-oriented; comfortable juggling multiple priorities.
- Effective collaborator with cross-functional (functional/technical) teams.
- Quality-driven, adheres to defined procedures; experienced in Lean delivery environments.
- Respectful of cultural diversity; eager to learn and explore new technologies.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office for documentation and reporting.
