Trade Operations Executive (6-Month Contract – Maternity Cover)

Job Purpose
We are seeking a meticulous and highly organized Trade Operations Executive to support the smooth execution of grain trading activities. This role plays a vital part in coordinating contract administration, shipping logistics, trade documentation, and payment processes. You will work closely with internal teams (trading, logistics, finance) and external partners to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant execution of all operational tasks.

This is a 6-month maternity cover contract, with an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic, cross-functional trading environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute and monitor trading contracts, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records in internal systems.
  • Coordinate bank payment processes (AP/AR), including Documentary Collections (DP) and Letters of Credit (LC), and track payment statuses.
  • Liaise with shipping agents, counterparties, and internal teams for vessel nominations and container shipping coordination.
  • Prepare, review, and verify shipping and trade documents, ensuring they comply with contractual terms and country-specific requirements.
  • Support daily trade operations and cross-functional workflow, ensuring compliance with internal SOPs.
  • Provide administrative and executional support for trading activities in Southeast and Southwest Asia markets.
Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, International Trade, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field preferred.
Experience
  • 1–2 years of experience in trade operations or shipping, preferably within grain trading or commodity sectors.
  • Experience with container shipments is required; experience with bulk shipping is a plus.
Skills & Competencies
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook.
  • Solid understanding of trade documents, incoterms, and shipping processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities under tight timelines.
  • Effective communication and coordination skills across diverse teams.
  • Collaborative team player with a hands-on, proactive approach.
