The Opportunity
Our client is seeking 1 suitable candidate who is passionate about making a difference and want to improve the efficacy of Government systems to join as Software Quality Engineer (QE). You will be part of the newly set up In-house Agile IT team to infuse quality mind-set and ensure software quality build throughout the development and maintenance phase of WINS, where you will:
- Involve in understanding the requirements from multiple internal and external stakeholder groups and work with the development team throughout development to define and improve the build system quality;
- Review stories to ensure that requirements stated are correct, unambiguous and verifiable. i.e. verify that definition of done is able to meet of every released feature;
- Discuss, analyse and recommend design improvements or corrections to developers throughout the development process;
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders and project team to identify needs and requirements for estimation of testing scope and time frame;
- Develop and establish quality assurance deliverables and testing framework, including create and maintain test plans and test cases in accordance with changing requirements, throughout development;
- Create and manage automated test framework whenever possible such as prepare test environment, maintain functional testing script in accordance with changing requirements;
- Conduct system integration tests with external parties, validate the output and expected outcome e.g. data to and from external parties' systems and feedback on improvement requirement;
- Conduct extensive manual functional /exploratory testing, including browser testing;
- Conduct performance and load tests, validate the output and expected outcomes and feedback on improvement required;
- Conduct application performance and security testing to ensure we have a robust and secured system in place;
- Conduct impact analysis of defect fixes discovered during manual or automated tests, validate completed stories pass the acceptance criteria, raising defects as needed and work with development team to improve the expected behavior and test cases;
- Demonstrate the tested stories during Sprint Review and prepare production show case to show the completed stories tested;
Your Background
The ideal candidate should exhibit the following skills and experience:
- Tertiary education (Degree or Diploma) in relevant field is preferred
- Hands-on experience in one or more of the followings is preferred:
- Application exploratory testing and regression test automation
- Application performance testing
- Application security testing
- Have SQL scripting skills
- Have relevant knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes
- Hands-on experience with software testing including automated functional testing tools such as Cucumber, Robot Framework, Fitness, Selenium, or enterprise level testing tools (HP Mobile Center, HP UFT, HP QC and Sprinter) will be an added advantage
- Hands-on experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter, Gatling or enterprise level testing tools (HP LoadRunner) will be an added advantage
- Hands-on Experience with penetration testing tools like ZAP, Burp Suite, SQL Map, etc or enterprise level pentest tools (HP WebInspect, Nessus or CheckMarx) will be an added advantage
- Certified Software Testing Professional and/or Certified Software Quality Analyst will be an added advantage.
- Experience doing testing in Agile development process will be an added advantage
- Experience in programming in Java/Perl/Python/Ruby on Rails will be an added advantage
