The Opportunity
The role will be responsible for:
- Drafting and negotiating securities lending, repurchase, ISDA and other OTC derivatives agreements with the Bank's counterparties in various jurisdictions within Asia Pacific and across the globe
- Providing legal advisory services to the Bank's internal stakeholders
- Identifying and articulating legal issues in a succinct manner taking into consideration the target audience
- Collaborating with colleagues in various businesses to support and protect the Bank's interest
- Building relationships with both internal and external client groups
- Identifying areas for improvement in the day-to-day processes and efficiencies that can be leveraged across the Legal department
- Ensuring post-execution quality control processes are adhered to
- Participating in ad-hoc projects
Your Background
- Working experience negotiating repurchase, securities lending and ISDA master agreements in various jurisdictions within Asia
- Previous experience in investment banking or in the financial services sector
- Law degree preferred but not mandatory
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment under tight deadlines
- An effective team player who is able to work well both under supervision and independently
- Has the ability to proactively raise potential issues
- Willing to learn and take on challenges
