Regional Risk and Controls Analyst

The Opportunity
Quarterly Sales Practices Scenarios run:

  • Quality Assurance of files received from Analytics and Information Management (AIM) for publication to countries:
    • Maintain Quality Control (QC) checklists to ensure files received have no data issues and have proper formatting. Check trends for abnormalities and reconcile same with country. Check that the data is rational with no untoward spikes or dip in numbers
    • Work with AIM team and country Decision Management for any potential data issues
    • Ensure files are published before end of quarter, and escalation as needed to Digital Control Assessment & Analytics Function (DCAAF) team for any challenges to meet the same
    • Prepare mails for the Quarterly run to send to countries
  • Tracking of outliers sent and dispositions of outliers received back from countries:
    • Maintain a tracker of outliers sent and dispositions received
    • Ensure that all required approvals are in place along with supporting artifacts and all requisite details
    • Monitor countries on progress and follow-up / escalate as per process on any delays


Other Deliverables for Sales Practices Review (SPR) Scenarios:

  • Work with DCAAF and countries for SPR scenario enhancement / change management:
    • Work with countries for any enhancement/change request to current Digital Monitoring Tool (DMT) logic for the SPR scenarios
    • Partner with DCAAF and AIM team to ensure request is appropriately raised on JIRA (initiative/process management platform) with proper documentation of change request (logics and approvals) and sign off from Country and DCAAF Head for implementation.
    • Ensure timely implementation of enhancements
  • Annual Survey of Sales Incentive Plan (SIPs) changes:
    • Conduct annual survey to countries for any SIPs changes
    • Work with DCAAF and country on the change logic and documentation in JIRA
    • Consolidate responses and track that the changes are implemented
  • Preparing sampling files and following up with Regional Second Line of Defense (2LOD):
    • Preparing sampling of dispositioned outliers for 2LOD review
    • Track completion of 2LOD review and follow-up with countries on any 2LOD queries
  • Maintain artifacts and approvals for record keeping in shared drive for all of the above


Sales Practices Governance Forums:

  • Preparation of Monthly Regional SPR Decisioning Forum (DF) minutes and attendance
  • Maintain a repository of all matters presented at forums
  • Preparing monthly charts for SPR trending
  • Assist in bringing Private Bank holistically into the SPR fold and help address data challenges and remediate pain points


Other SPR activities

  • Quarterly MCA testing of Regional Decisioning Forums:
    • Conduct testing to ensure forums are conducted along with proper approvals/attendance of voting members, and action items documented in minutes are closed out
    • Ensure supportings are evidenced and archived.
  • Monthly iCAPs (Corrective Action Plans) report:
    • Extract iCAPs report for CAPs that have SPR implications
    • Ensure data completeness and accuracy
    • Prepare file for analysis by highlighting past reviewed cases and new cases that require review.

Business Risk and Control:

  • Provide data for the weekly risk and control updates including issues that are closed or pending validation, status of audits and other reviews.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly Business Risk and Control meeting deck including extracting issues from the reporting systems for scorecard and open issues analysis, reconciling the data to various sources and working with business stakeholders to obtain updates and consolidation of the information in the deck.
  • Support the preparation of the GW and LF Retail scorecard
  • Support the update of the GW and LF Retail issue tracker to various meeting forums
  • Support ad hoc activities such as ICRM Personal Trading & Outside Activities (PTOA), tracking of employee coverage status changes across the countries and business from ICRM report, extraction of covered personnel for HR training.
  • Support the preparation of the slides for the quarterly Material Risk Inventory (MRI) review
  • Support any adhoc projects and activities as required


Your Background

  • Degree in Banking/Finance or equivalent
  • At least 3 to 5 years of banking experience in banking products and processes with strong strategic, analytical and project management skills
  • Experience in audit or risk and control frameworks
  • Previous experience should include a multi geography exposure / remit and understanding across Asia and preferably EMEA.
  • Focused attention to detail and quality assurance
  • Strong understanding of regional Retail/Wealth business landscape and Retail/Wealth Management/Insurance products
  • Good understanding of various branch, digital and other customer engagement channels
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel and Powerpoint is a must
  • Excellent quantitative, analytical and problem solving skills with attention to details
