Platform Provisioning Engineer

  • 12 months contract role, renewable (as project is confirmed for 5 years)
  • Will be supporting a banking project

The Opportunity
Job Responsibilities:
Infrastructure Review

  • Review all raised provisioning work orders, perform a pre-validation, raise review request to all involved provisioning teams and track the scheduled feedbacks
  • Managing all meeting invitations and administering tasks in terms of workflows, documents and access rights
  • Attend project meetings, kick-off or workshops upon request

Project Review and Consulting

  • Deliver a provisioning consulting service for IT project leaders and act as a single point of contact for provisioning requests and in supporting infrastructure component requests
  • For complex projects: Design review and engagement, and provide installation guidelines and system layout drawings
  • Attend at project kick-off meetings, involve relevant SME's of various infrastructure areas (e.g. storage, network, SAN, etc.) and provide feedback and/or guidelines for IT project leaders

Provisioning Request Management

  • Execute and track Provisioning Request work orders for server installations and decommissions; Provisioning Task assignment and dispatching in Provisioning Request Tool
  • Track approvals and network patching template from logical provisioning in DCIM (CPE) to begin hardware installation process
  • Check Master planning- / Tracking Schedule list and schedule DCIM requests for DCFM-work
  • Schedule request for physical HW requests and for Virtual VM requests in Provisioning Tool
  • Act as interface with DCO, Platform Provisioning, Logical Provisioning and HCS Operations to schedule and communicate realistic timelines
  • Plan and track requests and communicate ETA to customer

Server IT Procurement Management and Vendor Logistics

  • Responsible for ordering of continual supply of server hardware for Data Centre Provisioning
  • Focus on effective inventory planning, project and process control, and continuous process improvement
  • Manages all hardware supply chain- and delivery order management with vendor/supplier
  • Stock Management
  • Raise procurement request with internal order tools, and raise orders in external vendor owned procurement systems

Platform Provisioning Management

  • Provide technical knowledge and provisioning process information for HW- and VM- installation
  • Consolidate technical details to place a DCIM order; Prepare and upload network network configuration and cabling file to DCIM request
  • Perform final check and quality assurance of finished DCIM request, close them and review, consult and verify engineering-blueprints
  • In case of escalations, push the order through provisioning and assist TSAM / DM organisation
  • Setup Hardware drawings based on provided data points, e.g. rack/ appliances/ cards positions, cord types, cabinets, network components, port layouts, etc.
  • Track WOC changes and manage changes in DCIM request
  • Vendor Supplier management - hardware transactions, technical specifications and review of issues
  • Manage High Touch (HTO) fulfilment process; Complete workflow stages for progression to the next step
  • Engage NOC new vlans, subnets and non-standard switch orders for servers
  • Engage Storage provisioning for SAN port allocations
  • Schedule Logical Provisioning Task for Handover to Hosting Services (Integration, ESX, WIN)
  • HTO (High Touch Tool) and other Platform Provisioning / DC tools implementation, testing, issue reporting, improvements, including meeting attendance
  • DCO Tools and alternative DCIM product implementations, testing and migration of data
  • Generate new IMAC request template and network configuration template
  • Troubleshoot and analyse escalations, issues and incidents

General Provisioning Administration

  • Schedule and raise RFC exceptions for server installations and storage zoning in freeze and heightened awareness periods
  • Provide KPI Report for provisioning services including data gathering
  • MyOrders install, non-install and decom process development, implementation, etc.
  • Provide continuous improvement on processes, tools, checklists, etc.

Your Background

  • Good project management skills
  • Relevant experience in Facilities Management, Site Operations and Customer Relations
  • With previous experience planning for Servers and Devices to be rolled into the Data Center
