The Opportunity
This role is accountable for the data visualization and reporting capabilities of our client's Data & Analytics within Group IT:
- Design and create reports and dashboards
- Develop and maintain reporting framework
- Gatekeeping review and manage delivery of data visualization and reporting projects
- Conduct user training in using the tool
- Provide user support, guidance and troubleshooting on reports and dashboards
- Ensure that proposed solutions are aligned and conformed to the visualization and reporting guidelines and roadmap.
The job responsibilities include:
- Analyzing, estimating, designing, development, testing, and production roll-out of data visualization and reporting projects
- Consulting users with the understanding of business and data requirements, and iteratively designing visualizations for initial concepts and prototypes
- Designing and creating data visualization (reports and dashboards) using techniques for guided analytics, interactive dashboard design and visual best practices
- Delivering dashboards to convey the story points of the data
- Designing, development and maintenance of a reporting framework including creation of enterprise reporting, ad-hoc query and analysis
- Reviewing, approving and managing delivery of data visualization and reporting projects
- Conducting data analysis of large transaction data sets
- Performing data preparation and/or data modelling
- Applying best practices and techniques to ensure best possible performance, quality and responsiveness of the developed reports and dashboards
- Managing repository of re-usable data visualization templates and views
- Creating user guide, and conducting user training and demo of solutions/tools
- Providing user support, guidance and troubleshooting on reports and dashboards
- Setup and maintain security access control including user administration, site management
- Acting as mentor and subject matter expert for visualization and reporting tools across the organization
Your Background
- Minimum 6 years of experience in design and development of reports, dashboards in a Business Intelligence environment
- Strong hands-on experience on Tableau
- Strong hands-on experience on Cognos BI
- Strong knowledge in SQL
- Knowledge of data warehouse concepts and data modeling
- Experience in creating mock-up and prototyping
- Experience in storytelling with data
- Experience in analyzing business / data requirements, deliver design and estimate, development, testing and production deployment of reporting and dashboards projects
- Experience in performance fine-tuning of queries, reports and dashboards
- Experience in data preparation
- Experience in security administration, design and setup of authorization and user management
- Experience in admin functions related to data sources, extracts, schedules, tasks, subscriptions, upgrades, monitoring server status and performing tuning
- Experience in creating user guide and conduct user training
- Understanding and experience with the Software Development Life Cycle and Agile methodologies
